Then say the word "oooooooo" again exagerate your lips tightly.
Repeat this about 20 times.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

You know, I think developed muscle in any part of the body helps give a more youthful look. It makes sense to me that exercising facial muscles thus giving them tone would help one look younger. I often wonder if my years of chewing gum so often has added to the sculpted look of my face, which doesn't look 49 years old to me or anyone else. I think you should have given this little device more time....

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

Many thanks for your clear, honest and informative review of this product. People meet always think I am in my late 40s or early 50s rather than 62.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

I have used a device similar to this for several years. Before I started using it, I was getting droopy skin under my chin and sagging skin around the jaw line. I use it for two minutes a day, not this exact contraption but something much simpler called the Facial Flex. Believe me, I'm a skeptic and wouldn't have used this for years if it didn't work. The sagging skin disappeared and I am 59 and look like I'm in my 40s. If you exercise the muscles underneath the skin, the skin doesn't sag as much. Flat out true. The writer of this article should have gone more than "skin deep" in her research. SORRY...

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

would this help someone who has bell's palsy?

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

Hi Diane,
If you are looking for something that actually helps you look younger in a short amount of time, please email me. I have something that you might want to try and write about the results. It was developed by a British Indian and is hard to find someone who can do it in this country. I've had it done a few times. When the one side of your face has been stroked and massaged, you literally feel "lifted". The masseuse will show you the difference before she begins the other side of your face. Wow. I looked far more rested and actually felt awake, less puffy. It's a great massage for your sinuses too. I've never been able to fit in as many as they recommend in a row (six massages are claimed to give you the same results as a light face lift) but my muscles in my face were definitely relaxed. In the very least, this massage is preventative. At $42 a pop it's not overly expensive but definitely something that the everday person may not be able to afford on a regular basis. Worth it just for the relaxation. I fell asleep while it was being done last time. More natural than a contraption and doesn't hurt a bit!

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

Sounds like a good way to get Temporomandibular Joint problems. I'm a boomer too.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

I don't think the writer of this article was using it right and I'm not sure that only 2 weeks is enough time to judge(my instructions even say results will appear in 6-8 weeks). I have a similar model I purchased through QVC and have been using it for approximately 2 years. I didn't see results until almost 2-3 months but there is definitely tighter/stronger muscle tone in the cheeks and the beginning jowls/double chin I had are gone.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

I prefer my "wrinkle iron". Perhaps there are other applications that the Hannibal Ibes, excuse me, Hanna Ibes company has overlooked. Based on my experience as a RN and years of work in the field of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, I feel this product could provide benefits for weight loss if the appliance is worn throughout the day, removed only for five minutes for each of three meals. Another possibility may be to reduce a diastema, a large space between the teeth, such as Arnold Schwarchenegger has. So, 'chin-up', if you can, there may be other uses for this thing. I just hope your husband and friends are sympathetic and will speak up for you in public as it looks like you won't be able to yourself while wearing this wonderful appliance!

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

sorry I wasted my time reading this narcissistic twaddle

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

The idea that working your facial muscles more is going to affect wrinkling just defies logic. Unless you are expressionless, i.e. Botoxed, your facial muscles are constantly working. It seems to me that they are overworked, if anything, and probably need some rest!

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

Jack LaLane used to talk about exercises of the face. You have to keep at it to see results. Just like going to the gym you don't just exercise the muscles of your body for two weeks and expect to look like a bodybuilder do you? I personally found the device just amazing. It has firmed up my chin, lifted my eyebrows, filled out my cheeks, given me a glowing complexion, and yes made me look a lot younger. I know this because people allways think I am at least 10 years younger than I am. But then again I didn't give up after only two weeks. It took a few months of dilligent (70 reps)use twice a day to really start seeing results.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

I manufactured several years ago a similar facial exercise device named the Chin Gym. It worked on isometric principles..and it wored. Over the course of a couple of years I sold well over 50000 units around the world. The testimonials were my greatest joy. Hundreds of men and women wrote me telling me of their noted facial improvements after several months of using the Chin Gym... Only after a very negative news story that was based as this story is around a pompus doctor that had not used the device, and someone who had used the device for a week not months as was necessaryas with any exercise regiment to get results. The health catalogs and other merchants stopped carrying my product and destroyed my business.

It saddens me to see that our news media looks for anything they can jump on in a negative manner, no matter if the sourcing is correct or not with the end result the destruction of someones long thought out dreams.
A muscle can be reformed with proper exercise. The FlexAway is not and never claimed to be a "miracle" device and quite frankly is not for everyone. The statement that after two weeks "I still looked old" is an unrealistic expectation and as you can see through other postings many have had great success with their FlexAway and wouldn't be without it. I bought one of these devices but have given it a month USING IT CORRECTLY and it has tightened the area under my chin noticeably. I intend to use it further to tighten it even more. It is clear from the author's description when she says " And speaking of teeth, every time I looked in the mirror at the soft white rubber nestled up against my aging choppers", that she never had used the device correctly because the band NEVER EVER rests on the teeth). So I find it unfortunate that people will read this article and take the author's sloppy testing and incorrect conclusions about this device as thier own, and never try the device. For those who do try it CORRECTLY,and WORK to give it time as the directions make clear, the benefit will be apparent.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

R. I ordered the device on 21st July and it wasn't sent until 17th August, anyway I tried the item when it arrived and I really found it difficult to use compared to the facial flex I bought in the U.K. so I asked if I could send it back, Ms Hanna agreed to take it back and give me a partial refund, I sent it back sraight away by recorded delivery which cost £6, and you can probably guess what happened next I haven't received a penny back, I sent a total of 4 emails, the first two were replied to then they just didn't reply, so I lost my payment and my return postage, pretty dreadful service I would say.

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

The owner of this company is extremely rude. I spoke with her over the phone about a problem with shipping that occured and she became irrate and told me that she was "80 years old and she can be rude if she wants to". Then she hung up on me. First, I would expect more from the owner of a company. Second, especially since the product she is selling doesn't work. I have been using it for 4 weeks now, twice a day with absolutely NO RESULTS!!!

Flex-Away Facial Exerciser: Anti-aging or just scary?

Funny and well-written. but ... I have one of these device, and it actually does work after about 6 weeks of twice daily use. I suppose results vary, but I'm real happy with the purchase. Still, it's always good to be wary.
