I suppose everyone has to try one of these gimmicky BS offers at some point in their life. For usually less than $100, we get a nice reminder of how companies can make ludicrous claims with nothing to back them up, and laugh all the way to the bank. It helps make us more skeptical.

The downside is, it can make us TOO skeptical, so that when there is a good product out there, we are too scared or angry to purchase it.

The lesson is, do your research first. Ask to hear from actual people who have used the product, what they think of it.

There are too many scams out there, there should be more regulation of things like this, fines to companies that sell BS that doesn't work.

Sometime after her 50th birthday my wife exclaimed "look at me, no wonder nobody looks at me anymore".

Two things came to mind. First, I was no longer interested in looks as much as being with the person I trust to be there whenever we need to be a team. Second, the vanity of looking good for others appeared to really have an impact on her self image. My response to her "honey, I love you just the way you are and for sharing life with me".

Not that a "happy time" didn't ensue but the change from being a sought after female to a taken one seems to be a hard thing for women to adjust to and still feel "wanted". Thank you for the great article - seeing first hand experience is always interesting for people considering trying something new!

I think it would be great if you could also take a look at some other "olfactory" products that target arousal - specifically oxytocin and pheromone sprays/colognes.

Also another drug currently in clinical trials called Bremelanotide that is taken with a nasal spray. I'll link my name to a website about it because it looks very promising! ... although I'm not sure if even an MSNBC reporter could get their hands on it yet! :)

Ok, I give her a few points about scents helping you in the bedroom, but this comes from memory. Our sense of smell is quite powerful-so powerful that you pass a bakery or smell a neighbor's dinner cooking and you're immediately transported to another place (probably with your eyes closed); back to some childhood or life-changing memory. That's also why when you smell chicken soup, you remember your mom making it for you when you were ill and you feel comforted. We all know this on a basic level.

But I have to say that I disagree with her on what scents women are attracted to. Myself and other bakers are drawn to the smells of browned butter, bacon, cotton candy (it's quite exciting in a youthful way), toast, chocolate, toasting hazelnuts, spicy cookies and cakes baking. So instead of buying all of this stuff, we should just cook together. The smells and the heat and working so near each other-I'm sure you'll brush up against each other a few times really-will get you ready before the dinner is.
